A major crash on the M6 has brought traffic on a stretch of the major motorway to a complete standstill, with drivers being warned they face severe delays. Three of four lanes have been closed on the M6 northbound in Cheshire within junction 21 following a collision.
Motorway CCTV footage shows heavy traffic building northbound on the Thelwall Viaduct approaching the busy rush hour period. National Highways North West wrote on X: « 3 (of 4) lanes are closed on the #M6 in #Cheshire northbound within J21 due to a collision. Delays are currently 50 minutes above the profiled journey time. Thank you for your patience. » Traffic data service Inrix wrote: « Three lanes blocked and queueing traffic due to accident on M6 Thelwall Viaduct Northbound between J20 M56 J9 (Lymm Interchange) and J21 A57 Manchester Road (Woolston). »
