The crash on the M1 comes as freezing weather continues to grip the UK. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice, which covers Rugby and Birmingham, from 12am until 10am tomorrow (Wednesday, January 7).
Forecasters are warning of travel disruption due to icy roads. They are urging motorists to be careful.
The Met Office says: « Plan to leave the house at least five minutes earlier than normal. Not needing to rush, reduces your risk of accidents, slips, and falls. »
It adds: « Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables, amending your travel plans if necessary.
