Netflix subscribers have uncovered a fascinating connection between the cherished Knives Out trilogy and Daniel Craig’s legendary James Bond era.
The streaming platform has recently unveiled Wake Up Dead Man, the third instalment in Rian Johnson’s acclaimed detective series.
Craig returns as the quirky detective Benoit Blanc, tackling what appears to be an unsolvable homicide mystery.
Wake Up Dead Man has secured an impressive 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with numerous fans already hailing it as the trilogy’s finest entry.
This acclaim comes as little shock given its exceptional ensemble, featuring Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Kerry Washington, and Mila Kunis, reports the Mirror.
Yet the star-studded lineup has captured audiences’ attention for reasons beyond mere performance quality. Viewers have observed that every film in the franchise includes at least one performer who previously shared screen time with Craig during his 007 tenure.
A Reddit user compiled a collection of photographs showcasing Bond alumni who have appeared across the Knives Out series.
They revealed their findings, stating: « Something interesting I noticed after watching the movies back to back. With Wake Up Dead Man featuring Andrew Scott and Jeffrey Wright , Daniel Craig has worked again with at least one other actor from his James Bond movies on all 3 Knives Out films. »
Series enthusiasts will recall that the inaugural film showcased Oscar-nominated Ana de Armas as healthcare worker Marta Cabrera. Craig and de Armas previously worked together on No Time to Die, where the actress portrayed CIA operative Paloma.
However, as a Reddit users observed: « Ana de Armas was a Knives Out actor in a Bond movie, not the other way around, » given that she entered the Bond franchise two years following her appearance in the whodunit thriller.
Craig subsequently reunited with Bond co-star Dave Bautista in Glass Onion, the Knives Out follow-up.
Spectre enthusiasts will recall Bautista’s menacing assassin Hinx, a role drastically different from his comedic Glass Onion portrayal as gaming mogul Duke Cody.
Irish performer Andrew Scott also appeared in the 2015 Bond instalment as intelligence operative Max Denbigh.
Scott portrays misguided author Lee Ross in Wake Up Dead Man, though he doesn’t share many scenes with Craig.

Enthusiasts were delighted to witness this pairing collaborating again, four years since Wright portrayed Bond’s companion Felix Leiter.
