Iranian protesters captured by the regime’s police forces are being brutally tortured and raped in prison, sources has claimed. The Iranian regime has been tackling widespread protests for several weeks, with thousands of people across the country taking to the street since late December to protest the state of the nation’s economy.
Iranian forces have been accused of violent repression of the marches, with US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency claiming the verified death toll from the crackdown had passed 7,000. Police have also carried out arrests, with one Iranian national claiming to be fearful for the safety of those who are in jail, and alleging many are victims of torture and rape.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to fear for their safety has been described by NewsNationNow as an eyewitness during massacres that happened in January.
They told the US news outlet: “I am most worried about the people who got arrested. They are raping men and women in jail. They are being raped every day by (a) group of police. We are not people to them (the regime). People are getting raped in the jail every day.”
Another source, described as an Iranian refugee, alleged people arrested were victims of gang rape. They said: “All of us who were arrested in prison were subjected to gang rape by masked men, at gunpoint and under their mockery.”

They also alleged some of the female bodies had their uteruses removed, claiming: “Some of the women’s bodies that were returned to their families were missing their wombs so that the crimes could not be traced or investigated. »
Eyewitnesses to the weeks-long protests claimed Iranian security forces fired at children, women and the elderly. Shocked witnesses have claimed authorities fired on « everyone indiscriminately » not caring if they hit « women, men, children or the elderly ».
The protests over Iran’s deepening economic and labour crises under Ayatollah Ali Khamenei started in December.

Protesters have also claimed tear gas and chemicals were used to disperse crowds of demonstrators, with live ammunition, pellet guns and paintball guns also used.
Last week, a major police presence has been reported outside the Iranian Embassy in London on Saturday evening. Photos and videos shared on social media showed a line of police vans parked up near the embassy, located at 16 Princes Gate.
Demonstators have been gathering there regularly to show solidarity with the people of Iran.
At the height of the protests, US President Donald Trump warned Iran not to execute protesters and told members of the public taking to the streets that help was coming.
Mr Trump has since been threatening an attack on Iran should the regime not agree on a nuclear deal.
