Straightening my hair is a part of my daily routine, so when my last straighteners broke, I knew it was time to invest in a good pair that would last. I did some digging and found the wide Remington Shine Therapy straighteners had some great reviews and were really affordable. One of the key things that drew me to them was their enormous plates. I have thick hair, and compared with regular slim straighteners, these drastically cut down styling time, especially when I’m in a rush in the mornings, as they allow me to straighten much larger sections of hair at a time.

Since buying the hair tool several years ago, the other significant benefit has been the high-temperature range. They get hotter than many straighteners I’ve tried, as there are nine temperature settings between 150 and 235C, which is another bonus for my thick hair.

I paid full price when I bought the straighteners. Considering how often I use them, they’re worth the amount I paid. While they are reduced to £39.99 at Boots and £34.99 at Superdrug,  Amazon is the cheapest place to buy them right now.

The straighteners are also infused with Moroccan Argan Oil, which helps add shine to the hair and create sleek hairstyles. According to Amazon, the straighteners heat up in 15 seconds – I would say they take slightly longer to reach over 200 degrees, but this isn’t a problem, given that the actual styling time is quicker. 

The deal is part of the Amazon Spring Deal Days, a week-long sale that ends on Monday, March 31. The Remington Shine Therapy Wide won’t necessarily remain as low as £28.49 for the entire duration, though, as I’ve already seen prices change daily.

The original straighteners are Amazon’s bestselling hair straighteners, and they have slimmer plates that may suit fine hair. Plus, they’re also reduced on Amazon from £79.99 to £24.99. However, the wide-plated version is actually rated higher with a 4.6-star rating, and if you have long hair or thick hair like me, they have the edge for saving time.
