Iconic European city has £19 flights from UK this summer | Travel News | Travel

The abundance of ice and snow across the UK right now only has us wishing summer would come sooner. In welcome news, there are summer flights available for as little as £19, which you can book right now.

Paris, iconically known as the ‘City of Love’, is only a one-and-a-half-hour flight from the UK and, despite its proximity to chilly England, offers warmer weather. With average July highs of 25C, UK travellers can explore the city in a warm yet comfortable heat, and several airlines are currently offering affordable travel to France’s capital city.

Ryanair has affordable flights from Manchester to Paris from just £19 in July 2026. Other cheap deals include flights from London Southend for £29, or you can fly from Birmingham Airport for £26 each way.

Although often known for its pricy dining, Paris offers a range of affordable activities and sightseeing opportunities, from strolling along the Seine River to visiting the Eiffel Tower. The Louvre Museum, home of the Mona Lisa, also offers free entry on the first Friday of each month from 6pm to 9.45pm, provided visitors book online beforehand.

Although the offer is unavailable during July and August, Brits who want to grab cheap flights in June can benefit from the free admission.

While the Notre Dame Cathedral reopened in 2024 following restoration work, the cathedral’s historic towers only reopened to the public at the end of 2025, offering visitors the chance to explore a relatively new aspect of the iconic landmark.

Summer is also the perfect time to visit. The capital city offers stunning glimpses of nature through its famous gardens, Luxembourg Gardens and Jardins des Plantes. If you want to see Paris from a view for free, you can also explore the hidden rooftop spot at the top of the Galeries Lafayette Haussmann department store.

The warm weather also brings the season of street parties with free music, festivals, bustling café terraces, rooftop bars and riverside beaches.

Top summer events include Fête de La Musique, Paris Jazz Festival at the Parc Floral and a free open-air cinema at La Villette. So, while some hotel prices might be on the expensive side, you can save money by taking advantage of the many free events that take place during the summer.
