‘I get comments on barely having wrinkles’ with 83p-a-day collagen

As we get older, our skin, hair and nails tend to give our age away with fine lines showing and hair thinning. Especially if we’ve not been as attentive to it with apt lotions and potions that help smooth out the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

This is because collagen, which is the most abundant protein in the body and works as the ‘scaffolding supporting our skin, bones and even organs’, slows its production year on year. This in turn hinders the elasticity and radiance of our skin, causing deeper wrinkles and thinning hair.

While moisturisers and serums containing this protein have been proven to help, they can only go so far – which is where oral supplements come in. And one brand has been praised by shoppers for its ability to not only ‘help skin elasticity with menopause’ as well as joint pain.

Reverse Life’s Marine Collagen is a liquid supplement – as opposed to capsules, making for better and quicker absorption – whose formula contains 10,000mg marine collagen, hyaluronic acid, biotin, vitamin C, and zinc, which work together to be a ‘powerful, anti-ageing formula that works from the inside out’.

Studies completed by the brand showcase that 93% of participants noticed visibly more hydrated skin and 88% saw firmer, more supple skin. The formula has also recently been awarded the M-Tick by GenM, (a ground-breaking company celebrating menopause-friendly products) and uses 10,000mg of hydrolysed marine collagen, which aids in boosting skin radiance and hydration.

Vitamins C, D, zinc and biotin also contribute in supporting immunity, and enhancing joint health. Users only need to take one capful a day, too, differing from typical collagen capsules, which often requires two to be taken a day, such as Swallow’s Marine Collagen Peptide capsules, £30 for a month’s supply.

The brand claims that Reverse Life’s Marine Collagen has been especially effective in helping those suffering with perimenopause as well as menopause, highlighting: “Collagen combined with Hyaluronic acid and Biotin (as it is in the Reverse Life formula) can also help peri and menopausal women combat a range of common issues including joint pain, loss of skin hydration, dryness and itching as well as thinning hair and brittle nails.”

Its formula also contains protein, which help in combatting hormonal issues at this stage.

While one bottle (20 servings) of the stuff is currently reduced to £29 from £40, the brand offers a subscription model, which helps save even more. For example, its three-bottle supply costs £59 down from £120, which essentially equates to 99p per day.

But that’s not all. Reverse Life is currently offering users a 15% discount on orders when entering the code LINKBY15 at checkout. This means that one bottle alone would cost £24.65 and a three month subscription would be dropped to £50.15 (83p per day).

If adding a powder to a smoothie is more appealing, Free Soul’s CreaGlow: Creatine + Collagen Powder is on subscription for £27.99 and is a ‘strength and beauty blend, formulated with Creatine, CreaDrate™ and Naticol® Marine Collagen for strength, recovery and radiance’.

That being said, Reverse Life’s collagen, which has a mixed berry flavour, has been praised for its good taste, with one review hailing: “This is great collagen. Pleasant taste and no need to add to drinks.” They added of its results: “Since taking this my hair and nails have grown a lot, sciatica has hardly been noticeable which is an unexpected bonus. My face appears smoother and more radiant.”

Someone else raved about it in another five star review, which read: “Its is the best stuff, my hair is the best ever and helps nails too but I find my hair is where I’ve really noticed the difference.. love it.”

A third shared: “I have been using this for almost 2 years, it definitely has helped my skin elasticity with menopause. I get comments all the time on having barely any lines or wrinkles at age 57 almost 58.”

Another called it ‘liquid gold’ and mused: “I’m still in love with Reverse Life because that’s what it is doing for me reversing my wrinkles etc, love it.”

While most comments are a good indication of its results, supporting its overall rating of 4.4 stars on TrustPilot, some people weren’t quite as impressed with the Reverse Life supplement, with one person citing: “Taste is great. I’ve tried it before for 6 months. Didn’t seem to change anything.”

Others weren’t too enamoured with the berry flavour, stating it was too ‘sweet’, although that wasn’t an overwhelming response in comments, with most people loving the effects on their skin.

One person shared how peopple were asking if she’d had cosmetic work done after using the product, saying: « Noticed a huge improvement in my skin, hair, nails and joints. I have no wrinkles at all & people comment asking if I’ve had Botox! »
