Gorgeous UK beach with thousands of seals named one of Europe’s best | Travel News | Travel

A beautiful beach in the UK has been named as one of Europe’s best by TripAdvisor. The coastal spot gained a place on TripAdvisor’s Best of the Best beaches in Europe. The title was given as part of the website’s 2026 Travellers’ Choice Awards, which award people’s « favourite destinations, hotels, restaurants, and things to do around the world, based on reviews and ratings collected over 12 months ».

Horsey Beach, is an unspoilt sandy stretch located in Norfolk, and while the UK has many stunning coastal spots, there’s one thing in particular that makes this one special.

The wide-open beach is the ultimate destination for seal-watching, which has drawn multitudes of people.

On TripAdvisor, the beach has an impressive 4.8 rating, with many visitors raving about the seals that can be watched during the winter months.

One visitor who gave it full ratings said: « Love this place especially when all the seals are visible. Fabulous beach, fabulous walks we were fortunate to see a seal rescue team arrive also. They work so hard and rely totally on donations, we shall be back. »

A wildlife photographer shared that a visit to the beach was actually on their bucket list, and that their experience « did not disappoint ».

They added: « What an amazing experience photographing the seals. The car park is spacious and only a short walk to the beach over the sand dunes. Seeing the seals lying on the beach is a wonderful sight there were so many. I would recommend this experience. »

Horsey Beach, however, is not just worth visiting in the winter, but it makes a great summer trip too, especially for those who value tranquillity and peace.

The beautiful sand, alongside the quiet atmosphere, makes a great place to stop and have a picnic, or just relax and enjoy the sunshine.

And you still get a glimpse of the seals from them splashing in the sea or unwinding on the sand. One person who made a summer visit and saw « lots of sunbathing seals to see in their own environment », added that Horsey Beach is « well worth a visit [and] a definite hidden gem of the beaten track ».
