A fire erupted in a UK town overnight, prompting firefighters and police officers to rush to the area. 999 crews were called in the early hours of March 25 to reports of a blaze near the Chain Bridge Road area of Blaydon, in the Gateshead Borough.
The fire is reported to have begun in a premises on Patterson Street. Several pumping appliances and specialist vehicles are in attendance at the scene, and police officers are assisting fire crews and have set up a cordon. As emergency services work at the scene, residents near the area have been urged to keep their doors and windows closed, as thick smoke rises from the area.
