‘Forgotten’ Western epic with 91% score is now streaming on Prime – ‘masterpiece’ | Films | Entertainment

Many Western films have come and gone over the years, but some still manage to surprise people long after their release. Every so often, viewers discover a movie that didn’t get the attention it deserved at the time. And one film in particular has been described as a hidden gem, and fans say it is one of the most gripping Westerns available to stream today.

It has a 91% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes and has been praised for its tension, performances and unusual mix of genres. Despite this, the film slipped under the radar for many people. But those who have seen it say it stands out because it is far more intense than a typical Western and has scenes that stay with you for a long time.

And now it is streaming on Prime Video, giving new audiences a chance to see why it has built such a strong reputation.

The film in question is Bone Tomahawk, a 2015 Western with terrifying horror elements.

Reviews from fans have been extremely positive over the years.

One person said: “It’s a hidden gem and a must-see. It also seems to have been forgotten over the last decade.

“I saw this movie by accident and the whole two hours I was on the edge of my seat. It’s very well acted, directed, and there is some excellent camerawork.”

A second wrote: “It’s a Western-horror masterpiece. I had passed over this film multiple times on Amazon Prime not thinking once or twice about it, until one day I decided to give it a try.

“I was blown away. It’s amazing and completely different from what I was originally expecting but in a good way.”

A third added: “This movie will stick in your head long after you watch it. It’s very well detailed and makes you wonder if stuff like this really happened back then.

“There’s a scene near the end that’s one of the most gruesome scenes I’ve ever witnessed in a film.”

The story follows a sheriff who leads a rescue mission into a remote region after a group of people are abducted by a violent clan.

It combines traditional Western themes with darker, more unsettling moments, which is one of the reasons viewers say it stands apart from other films in the genre.

Bone Tomahawk stars Kurt Russell, Patrick Wilson, Matthew Fox and Richard Jenkins.

It was written and directed by S. Craig Zahler, who made the film on a small budget and completed shooting in just 21 days.

It premiered at Fantastic Fest in 2015 and received strong praise for its cast and its slow-building tension.

Although it had a limited release in cinemas, the film performed well on home media and has grown in popularity since.

Many viewers now see it as one of the best Western films of the last decade.

For those who wish to watch it, the film is available to stream on Prime Video.
