Duchess Sophie sparks royal frenzy in ‘stunning’ £3,800 look | Royal | News

For the occasion, Sophie wore the Galvan Margot silk-satin midi dress in emerald green, a sleek, fluid design that skimmed the body and caught the light beautifully as she moved through the historic setting. The dress, which retails at around £1,295, featured a high neckline, subtle draping and a softly fluted hem, striking the perfect balance between modern minimalism and classic royal polish.

The rich green shade felt especially fitting for an evening steeped in heritage, while also nodding to Sophie’s growing confidence with bolder colour choices.

Taking to X royal fans could not contain their delight at seeing the dress make a return. Sophie first wore the look back in May 2020, when she stepped out in Mayfair, making its reappearance all the more meaningful.

One user penned: “She looks stunning tonight!! I love this dress on her, glad to see the rewear.”

“Sophie’s silk-satin dress fabric flows. It’s a simple design, but is one of the best outfits I’ve seen her in. The colour really suits her,” added a second.

While a third shared: “She really is a stylish women. Well done, Sophie! This is beautiful. 10/10, no notes.”

Sophie paired the statement dress with Prada pointed-toe pumps in brown suede, grounding the look with a softer, more wearable contrast rather than opting for predictable black.

The warm neutral added depth to the outfit and reinforced the Duchesses knack for understated styling that never feels overworked.

On her wrist, she wore a Chopard Happy Diamonds bracelet in rose gold, worth £1,640, bringing just enough sparkle without distracting from the clean lines of the dress.

What made the look feel particularly powerful was its restraint. There was nothing excessive or theatrical here – instead, Sophie leaned into precision, quality and confidence. The silk-satin fabric did the talking.

In recent years, the Duchess of Edinburgh has carved out a distinctive style lane: sophisticated, dependable and increasingly fashion-forward.

Last night’s appearance felt like a culmination of that journey. If there was any doubt about Sophie’s status as a quiet fashion force within the Royal Family, this look put it firmly to rest.
