Donald Trump looked ashen-faced as he stepped off Air Force One to welcome home the six US soldiers who were killed in the ongoing conflict with Iran. The US President was pictured arriving at Dover Air Force Base, in Delaware, alongside Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth as the fallen soldiers were prepared to be taken to their final resting place.
Trump joined the families of Nicole Amor, 39, Cody Khork, 35, Robert Marzan, 54, Jeffrey O’Brien, 45, Noah Tietjens, 42, and 20-year-old Declan Coady as they returned to US soil. The six soldiers, who were killed in Kuwait, are being transported to a mortuary facility before being put to rest. The US President said at a summit in Florida on Saturday morning (March 7) that they were « coming home from Iran…in a different manner than they thought they’d be coming home. » He added: « They’re great heroes in our country. »
As reported by the Daily Mail, Republican Senator and combat veteran Joni Ernst said the US owes the solders « an incredible debt of gratitude that can never be repaid. » He added: « These soldiers engaged in the most noble mission: protecting their fellow Americans and keeping our homeland secure. »
Meanwhile, Trump has warned that more US lives could be lost as the war rages on in the Middle East. Iran has retaliated hard since being attacked last week, launching missiles and drone strikes on American bases around the region.

The US President vowed on Saturday to escalate the bombing campaign against Iran. He said in a post on Truth Social: « Iran is no longer the ‘Bully of the Middle East,’ they are, instead, ‘the loser of the Middle East’ ».
The Republican added that the US military will be ramping up attacks. As well as demanding an « unconditional surrender », he posted: « Today Iran will be hit very hard! »
It is estimated that over 1,300 Iranian civilians have been killed in airstrikes over the last week. Meanwhile, a leaked spy report by the National Intelligence Council warned that continued US military action could be disastrous.
Nicole Amor’s husband, Joey, said his wife was due to come home from Kuwait. As reported by the Associated Press, he said: « You don’t go to Kuwait thinking something’s going to happen, and for her to be one of the first – it hurts. »
Jeffrey O’Brien’s family took to Facebook to pay tribute to him, describing him as the « sweetest blue-eyed, blonde farm kid you’d ever know ». His aunt said: « He is so missed already. »
Meanwhile, Robert Marzan’s sister wrote: « My baby brother, you are loved, and I will hold onto all our memories and cherish them always in my heart. »
Declan Coady, the youngest of the soldiers to die, said his son was « one of the most kindest [sic] people you would ever meet. » He added: « He would do anything and everything for anyone. »
Cody Khork’s family remembered him as the ‘life of the party’ who had an ‘infectious spirit’ and a ‘generous heart.’
