Perched above the golden sands of Crooklets Beach in Bude is a holiday cottage with front-row sea views that has been crowned one of the “most loved” stays for 2026. Experts at holidaycottages.co.uk compiled a top 10 list based on what guests really think by looking at bookings, five-star reviews and how often each property was viewed online. And the Cornish seaside address topped the list.
The modern apartment, known as No1, sits high on the clifftop along the Bude coastline, gazing out over beaches and rolling waves that wouldn’t look out of place on a postcard. It sleeps four people across two bedrooms, has two bathrooms, and comes with its own private patio and garden area – all angled towards those big, open sea views.
Both bedrooms feature super-king size beds, although one can be made up as a twin on request, making it great for couples, families or friends. The kitchen is fully kitted out with plenty of modern amenities: an electric oven and induction hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, boiling water tap and coffee machine.
The open-plan kitchen is the heart of the apartment, shared with the living and dining space. A floor-to-ceiling sliding glass door floods the space with light and keeps the sea front and centre, whatever the season. In winter, you can watch the shoreline sparkle while cradling a hot coffee inside; in summer, slide the doors wide open and let the salty breeze in.
The apartment holds a five-star rating from guests. “Fantastic, spacious, modern property,” said one previous guest who stayed in November 2025. “Excellent location and well equipped. I thought it was great value, especially considering the wonderful view over the beach.”
Another added: “This was a beautiful apartment, fitted out to a high specification, a privilege to stay there…It’s in a lovely location, ideal for coastal walks and water activities. A thoroughly good week.”
One of the standout features is the fact that, despite being an apartment, it comes with its own garden. There’s also a private sauna, which feels like a real treat after a blustery day on the coast.
Being on the ground floor, the apartment is also accessible. One guest said: “Well-appointed apartment with amazing views and luxury spec. Cannot fault it. My son is in a wheelchair and the spaciousness of the apartment meant it worked really well for us… We needed a portable ramp to get him up a small 10cm step at the front, but other than that, it was perfect for us.”
If you do manage to tear yourself away from the view, there’s plenty nearby to fill your days. Bude and North Cornwall Golf Club is close by, and Bude’s charming town centre is within easy reach, packed with boutique shops, cafés, pubs, restaurants and bars.
For those who like to keep moving, the beaches are just the beginning. The clifftops open up onto the South West Coast Path, where you can wander to Compass Point and pause to snap photos of the rugged landscape below.
Prices vary depending on when you book, with peak seasons proving the most popular.
At the moment, there’s still some availability this summer, with the best dates spanning a two-week window in July. Our independent search showed that you can book for four people for seven nights from Monday, July 20, 2026, for £2,798. That works out at roughly £399.71 a night, but split between four adults, that’s just £99 a night. A simple way to make a luxury seaside stay feel far more doable.
After that, the next availability isn’t until autumn and winter, when prices become even more tempting. For example, our independent search showed that you can book a seven-night stay from Monday, November 16, 2026, for £1,026. Split between four adults, that works out at approximately £36 per person, per night. Not bad at all.
Looking further ahead, the 2027 calendar is still fairly open. If you’re the kind of traveller who likes to plan ahead, it could be the perfect opportunity to secure a summer stay and enjoy those Cornish coastal views with sunlight overhead.
