Presenter, writer, radio host and fashion icon Claudia Winkleman has had a pretty incredible year. With filming for The Traitors, and its first ever celebrity spin-off Celebrity Traitors, and her final series of Strictly Come Dancing, among other things, she’s been a busy woman. Topping it off, earlier in the week the TV favourite was officially recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours with a Member of the Order of the British Empire, MBE, (alongside her Strictly co-host, Tess Daly, who received hers at the start of November) for services to broadcasting.
As with most things Claudia does, we couldn’t help but notice her outfit chosen for accepting the award – I mean, she is one of Vogue’s ‘Best-Dressed Brits of 2025’. Swapping out her usual Traitors-core country-gothic-chic style for a more sophisticated, structured and timeless white suit, Claudia looked incredible as she paired it with a black shirt, white headband and white pointed court shoes. And as one fan of hers wrote on Instagram underneath her announcement of the MBE, she was totally ‘rocking the suit’.
Now, while the two-piece the 53-year-old, whose outfits are often down to long-time styllist Sinead McKeefry, wore to accept her MBE hasn’t been revealed or tagged, we believe its from Parisian fashion designer The Kooples. Blending Parisian chic and British rock, it’s a favourite brand of the TV star’s, and she may have even reworn the same suit after appearing in a similar style at the 2024 BAFTAS.
More specifically, we’re under the impression this set is The Kooples’ Off-white straight-cut crepe suit jacket, £375, and Ecru straight-cut crepe tailored pants, £245.
With this combination retailing at £620 in total, it’s quite the investment for those who want to recreate her look. However, the high street does have a number of glorious alternatives that’d enable its wearer to look just as chic as she does – without quite so much of a dent in the bank.
For example, with The Kooples jacket having fabric covered buttons on its front and the cuff, shoppers who want to match Claudia can snap up the YAS oversized tailored blazer and straight leg trousers set in white from ASOS. With the blazer costing £75 and the trousers, £55, it’d set shoppers back just £130 in comparison.
With a similar relaxed fit, shoppers can add in a black blouse – such as this Sister Jane Kelly Ruffle Blouse, £69, or Marks and Spencer’s more simple Cotton Rich Fitted Collared Shirt, £17.50.
Being cheaper than Claudia’s designer look, the YAS blazer comes with plastic buttons in the same shade as the blazer, to blend in, as opposed to fabric covered ones. Plus, the shoulders come padded for added volume. With only one button at the front, some shoppers may feel that it’s a bit too revealing, as opposed to two or three. If that’s a bit of a deal-breaker, Debenhams has reduced the price of this Coast Premium Hourglass Silhouette Double Breasted Blazer to £90.30 from £129. With three double-breasted buttons, it offers a lovely hourglass shape and coverage.
Adding in a white Alice band – such as this Bloom & Bay Ixora Satin Headband £13, at John Lewis – and some pointed white heels, like these White Forever Comfort® Point Toe Vinyl Jewel Detail Sling Back Heels from Next, will complete the look.
Elsewhere at Debenhams, shoppers can get the Karen Millen Compact Stretch Essential Single Breasted Tailored Blazer for £95.20 instead of £119. While it differs from Claudia’s look with only one button fastening that comes in gold, as opposed to fabric coloured the same as the blazer, it’s a gorgeous, tailored design that’ll flatter the figure whilst being pretty comfortable.
This is thanks to its four-way-strecth fabric, that enables ample movement – something a lot of blazers don’t give. For shoppers who want to build on the black-and-white style, River Island has a blazer whose lapels are black that is a lovely contrast and is mirrored in the buttons at the chest. It also differs in that it has a tie belt for a fastener, as opposed to buttons, which makes it easier to loosen for the perfect fit.
Its matching trousers ooze glamour and have a contrast black piping down the side of the wide legs, which adds some serious drama. With a black waistband too, they offer a seamless look with its zip fastening. However, one downside with a lack of belt loops and a button is that its fit on the waist cannot be adjusted, which may put some people off.
Sharing her news with her fans on social media, Claudia Winkleman wrote a caption alongside two photos – pictured with the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) and accepting the award – which read: « An incredible morning and an enormous honour. I’m speechless ». Shortly afterwards, her comments were flooded with well wishes from celebrity pals and followers, amongst messages of admiration over her look.
One person raved: « The people’s Queen, rightfully crowned, » while another added: « Congrats gorgeous! And total Bianca Jagger wedding suit vibes are a hit. »
Someone else noted: « Congratulations! You look stunning. »
Claudia was awarded the MBE alongside her co-presenter at Strictly Come Dancing, Tess Daly, who also said: « Receiving this award is a privilege beyond words and without doubt the greatest honour of my career for which I am profoundly and eternally grateful. »
