Champions League viewers fume at TNT Sports’ goals show with complaint | Football | Sport

TNT Sports viewers were left fuming with the confusing nature of the broadcaster’s Champions League goals show. Eighteen European fixtures are being played on Wednesday evening.

A centralised goals show was supposed to keep fans informed as goals were scored in each match. However, viewers found it difficult to locate among the swathe of live football being shown by TNT Sports.

The goals show was technically not being shown on a linear TNT Sports channel. Instead, anyone wanting to keep across all the matches had to select any of the TNT Sports channels before clicking the red button to find the programme.

Discovery+ subscribers could find the goals show on their app. Many viewers complained that the programme was too difficult to find on their television sets.

“Are you honestly telling me on the biggest Champions League night of the season the f***ing morons at @footballontnt don’t have the goals show on one of their channels? Utterly idiotic,” posted X user @mikeinmcr.

“Can @SkySports please get European football back.”

@gcooney93 added: “And so on the bonkers 18-game finale to the Champions League, TNT have hidden their ideal Goals Show on a red button, and so can’t be watched on Sky Go.”

“Whoever decided to hide this of all goal show nights behind the red button is nuts,” said @Brezsean.

@derekgoulding concluded: “On the night of all nights, the Goals Show is not available for @NOWTV customers because it’s on a channel above TNT4. What’s the point in paying for it? It should have been advertised as a limited service.”

However, other viewers were impressed with what they saw. Billie_T said: “CL goal show with 18 matches may be the best thing ever aired on TV.”

“This UCL goals show might be the best programme I’ve ever watched,” added @FPL_Harry.

@htomufc said: “Feels grim but this goal show is pure cinema.”

The goals show was being presented by Matt Smith. He was joined by guests Ally McCoist, Karen Carney and James Horncastle. All four English teams were in action and their matches were shown live by the broadcasters.

Manchester City were hoping to save their Champions League campaign against Girona. Aston Villa also hoped to seal qualification in a thrilling England vs Scotland encounter against Celtic. Liverpool, who were already qualified, sent out an inexperienced side to face PSV.

Arsenal could seal automatic qualification for the knockout rounds by beating Girona.
