A total of 11 countries so far have reportedly been hit by Iranian missiles or drones since the war erupted six days ago. These include Israel, Iraq and Cyprus, where Defence Secretary John Healey arrived on Thursday amid fierce criticism of the UK’s response to the conflict.

The Islamic Republic has focused attacks on US bases across the region since the war erupted on Saturday (February 28), but energy infrastructure and civilian sites have also been struck. As of Thursday afternoon, Iran targeted Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan, Cyprus and Azerbaijan. One drone hit RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus at midnight on Sunday, with two more intercepted en route to the base a day later.

On Thursday, Azerbaijan’s foreign ministry accused Iran of a drone attack on its territory, saying two civilians were injured. The number of those reported injured later rose to four. Iran denied the allegation.
