M6 traffic RECAP: Crash near Spaghetti Junction sparks huge delays | UK | News

Drivers on the M6 are facing traffic chaos this afternoon following a crash, with severe delays and major congestion. The collision has occured on the southbound stretch of motorway between junction 6 (Spaghetti Junction) and junction 5 (Castle Bromich).

The first of four lanes has been closed as a result of the crash. Drivers have been warned they face delays of up to 35 minutes on approach and four miles of traffic. Motorway camera footage shows vehicles almost bumper-to-bumper, with traffic at a virtual standstill. National Highways West Midlands wrote on X: « Travel update. #M6 south between J6 #SpaghettiJunction and J5 #CastleBromwich. Lanes 1 (of 4) is CLOSED due to a traffic collision. Delays of up to 35 minutes on approach with 4 miles of congestion. »
