A woman has claimed she « died for four days » and was reunited with her deceased dog in the afterlife — where she discovered the true meaning of life.
Pamela Nance was just 22-years-old and preparing for her final archaeology exams when her life was turned upside down while working shifts at a local gourmet restaurant.
On a Friday evening in April 1990, Pamela, who grew up in North Carolina, was on shift at the restaurant when she began experiencing stomach pain, having previously developed an ulcer. At one point she heard a pop, which she later discovered was a burst blood vessel, meaning she had started to bleed out internally without any awareness of what was happening.
The following evening she went out for dinner with her husband, before vomiting blood upon returning home. However, having consumed cherry sauce and a glass of red wine with her meal, she brushed off her concerns.
Upon waking the next morning, she felt severely nauseous and desperately thirsty, and made her way to the landing to ask her husband to bring her a fizzy drink, as he was getting ready downstairs to head out.
She recalled: « I asked him to bring me back a soda as he came back to town because that’s something we typically don’t keep in the house. And I turned to go into a little half bathroom — and that’s the last thing I remembered. It was lights out for me. »

Fortunately, her husband heard her collapse and immediately called the emergency services upon discovering she was unresponsive. According to Nancy, however, she was no longer present in the physical world, finding herself suddenly standing beside a snowcapped mountain range.
A verdant valley stretched between two mountains, and speaking to NDE Journey, she recalled: « And people talk about the colours on the other side as being indescribable and this is absolutely true. What I experienced goes beyond human description. The colours were so vibrant, so beautiful, so encompassing. I felt as though I was part of this environment, that I was really not a physical form any longer, that I was an energetic part of the whole scene. »
As she absorbed her surroundings, she described spotting an enormous tree, which drew her closer before seemingly communicating with her.
She went on to reveal that she found herself encircled by animals, before encountering something entirely unexpected.
Nancy recalled: « I could feel the love coming from all of these animals, it was the most beautiful feeling and belonging. I had no thoughts of my physical form or my physical life. I was there and I knew that was where I was supposed to be and belonged with these beautiful creatures that loved me.
« And as these feelings built within me, the animals parted and out of the midst came my Rottweiler, Holly, who had passed away… on that same day when I had the stomach pop or the stomach pain.

« But the Holly I was seeing under this majestic tree appeared to be in her youth, maybe about two or three years old. She looked like she did shortly after I first got her. She was shiny, she was vibrant. She was so happy to see me, her little body was wiggling and her tail was wagging back and forth.
« And I just fell to my knees and I started crying and I embraced her because I never expected to see Holly again. I had just lost her and here she was, you know, alive, and she was licking the tears from my face and it was just absolutely beautiful and the love truly is indescribable.
« And as I end this scene, far far in the distance, I could hear my name being called. I recognised it as my husband’s voice and he kept calling my name over and over and I sensed the fear in his voice. »
She then described feeling herself being drawn back to the physical world.
Nancy recalled opening her eyes to find her worried husband urging her not to move while reassuring her that paramedics were on their way.
She was subsequently taken to hospital. While in ICU, Nancy revealed she once again drifted to the other side, where she was greeted by more animals, accompanied by a Buddhist monk who conversed with her and served as her guide.
She regained consciousness on Tuesday morning, just as she was about to undergo an endoscopy. Internal bleeding was discovered, and after five days in hospital, Nancy made a full recovery. She described herself as a « completely changed person » who perceived the world in an entirely different manner following her experience.
Sharing her journey to the afterlife, Nancy maintained she uncovered the true purpose of existence. Revealing what she discovered, she told listeners: « I do revere all life. That experience really opened me to the knowledge that where we are right now, this is real for this 3D environment that we find ourselves in, but our true life, our true self, is on the other side.
« That’s where we are connected to the source, the creator, and to the love, the unconditional love that flows through that area of existence.
« And my message to the viewers today is that we are all connected by that love. The only thing that keeps us apart, that keeps us separate, is fear.
« And there’s no place for that because we are all connected. We’re all the same at a soul, at a spirit, at a conscious level. And it becomes very clear once you have this type of experience, the interconnectedness that we all have with each other.
« And that’s my message — that’s it’s all about love. »
