Royal fans tear Meghan Markle apart for being ‘stuck in the past’ | Royal | News

Meghan Markle has been slammed by Royal Family fans online for being « stuck in the past » and clinging to British rituals in her latest newsletter for her lifestyle brand, As Ever. Explaining that she still enjoys a cup of tea, Meghan detailed the importance of slowing down and enjoying a « cuppa ».

She wrote: « We love turning a daily ritual, like a cup of tea, into a quiet invitation to slow down. A proper tea time doesn’t need to be about perfection, but about presence. » In her newsletter, the Duchess of Sussex then explains how to create the perfect setting to enjoy tea. She writes: « Start with the table: keep it considered, not crowded — a softly flickering candle, a neatly folded linen, and a curation of teas ready to steep. »

However, Meghan’s determination to keep her links to the UK alive despite her short stint in the Royal Family, has left fans of the Firm puzzled online.

One account blasted: « She really is stuck in the past! This is literally The Tig 2.0, and she hasn’t moved on in her head! »

A second person agreed, adding: « I don’t believe Meghan understands that British culture is far more than just tea. Think of all the aspects of their dad’s ‘homeland’ that the children are missing out on beyond the fact that they are being purposefully kept from knowing their family. »

A third fan slammed: « She doesn’t even like the Royal Family, but she’ll grift off the title. »

A fourth joked: « How did we all manage before Meghan Markle came into our lives to tell us the most basic, uncreative things ever? »

A final fan pointed out: « Not to mention, we really don’t drink tea here in California. More of a coffee culture. So she’s certainly not marketing to us! »

In her newsletter, Meghan details how to create the perfect setting to enjoy tea. She says: « Start with the table: keep it considered, not crowded — a softly flickering candle, a neatly folded linen, and a curation of teas ready to steep. »

With regards to the next steps, Meghan adds: « Follow a few traditions: warm the pot, pour with care, offer milk or lemon. Add something sweet: perhaps a spoonful of strawberry spread atop a croissant. Then let the conversation linger to the last pour. »

Meghan’s latest post also promoted her ‘When the Day Slows’ set, which consists of her Signature Candle No. 084, Signature Candle No. 519, Herbal Hibiscus Tea and Lemon Ginger Tea. It is priced at $132 (£114) for the set.

Meghan writes: « A small ritual to end the day. Something warm on the table. Something softly lit in the room. This set is designed for the quiet hours — when the pace eases, the lights dim, and there’s nowhere else you need to be. A candle lit, a cup of tea steeping, and a moment to let the day gently fade. »
