The 47-year-old was notified after last weekend’s loss to Nottingham Forest that his father Mario had passed away, prompting him to return home for the funeral which took place on Wednesday. A statement from the club read: « We can confirm that it has been mutually agreed for head coach Igor Tudor to leave the club with immediate effect.
« Tomislav Rogic and Riccardo Ragnacci have also left their respective roles of Goalkeeping Coach and Physical Coach. We thank Igor, Tomislav and Riccardo for their efforts during the past six weeks, in which they worked tirelessly.
« We also acknowledge the bereavement that Igor has recently suffered and send our support to him and his family at this difficult time. An update on a new head coach will be provided in due course. »
Now CEO Vinai Venkatesham and sporting director Johan Lange must turn their attention elsewhere. It’s understood Spurs aim to have a new head coach installed by the time the players return from international duty, affording them all 10 days to collaborate ahead of the Premier League match at Sunderland, reports football.london. Coach Bruno Saltor has stayed on and will oversee training for the small group of Tottenham players currently at Hotspur Way.
