A man has been jailed for raping two girls while they slept. As well as being put behind bars for 10 years, with a two-year extended licence period, Stefan Dobandi, of no fixed abode, was handed a 10-year restraining order to protect the victims, an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and subject to notification requirements for life.
Mold Crown Court heard how the 20-year-old raped two teenage girls in Flintshire, north east Wales, on separate occasions between May and June last year. He was arrested before admitting three counts of rape and two counts of taking an indecent photograph/ pseudo-photograph of a child at a hearing in February.
The first attack took place during the early hours of June 1. Dobandi entered the home of one of the victims before getting into her bed and raping her.
She woke up to find the 20-year-old next to her while she was partly undressed. A second teenage girl also woke up in bed to find Dobandi raping her in the previous month.
The court heard how he sent voice messages to one of the victims in which he admitted what he had done. The victims have been commended for their bravery while Dobandi has been branded a « predator ».
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Guto Hughes of North Wales Police, said: « Dobandi has proved himself to be a predator who is a danger to women. There is no doubt these horrific offences will likely impact his victims forever.
“I commend their courage for speaking out and reporting his crimes, which has led to his conviction today, and prevented him from committing further sexual offences. Tackling violence against women and girls remains a foremost priority for North Wales Police.
« We are committed to identifying perpetrators, pursuing justice, and ensuring that victims receive the protection and support they need. We will continue to work tirelessly to hold offenders to account and to keep our communities safe. »
