Trump threatens to ‘massively blow up’ Iran’s gas field, blasts Israel | US | News

Donald Trump has threatened to obliterate Iran‘s most strategically vital gas facility after publicly rebuking Israel for striking it first — insisting the US « knew nothing » about the attack.

The President took to Truth Social to condemn Israel‘s assault on the South Pars Gas Field, saying it had « violently lashed out » in anger — before warning that America itself would destroy the same target if Iran continued attacking Qatar.

Mr Trump fumed: « Israel, out of anger for what has taken place in the Middle East, has violently lashed out at a major facility known as South Pars Gas Field in Iran. »

He added that Qatar « was in no way, shape, or form, involved with it, nor did it have any idea that it was going to happen » and « unfortunately, Iran did not know this. »

US threat

Unless Iran chose to strike Qatar again, South Pars would remain untouched — but Trump made clear that any further aggression would bring American firepower to bear, with or without Israeli involvement.

The US, « with or without the help or consent of Israel, will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before, » he wrote.

« I do not want to authorize this level of violence and destruction because of the long term implications that it will have on the future of Iran, but if Qatar’s LNG is again attacked, I will not hesitate to do so, » he added.

Qatar under fire

The chain of destruction began with Israel’s assault on South Pars, which drew immediate Iranian reprisals against the Ras Laffan Industrial City — the nerve centre of Qatar’s energy exports and the largest LNG terminal on the planet. QatarEnergy confirmed the Pearl GTL facility had sustained extensive damage.

Fresh Iranian strikes then ignited what QatarEnergy described as « sizeable fires » burning across multiple facilities at the complex. Rapid deployment of emergency crews brought the situation under partial control, with no lives lost.

By Tuesday, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior reported that two of the three fires raging in the Ras Laffan Industrial Area had been brought under control, with nobody hurt. Work to cool and make safe the remaining affected sites was continuing.

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry issued a furious statement condemning Tehran.

« The brutal Iranian attacks on countries in the region have crossed all red lines by targeting civilians, civilian infrastructure and vital facilities, » it said.

« The ministry stresses the need to spare the region the consequences of these unjustified attacks and to work towards de-escalation in order to restore regional and international security and stability. »
