Large swathes of the UK will experience a dose of summer with sunny conditions to make a glorious return tomorrow, Wednesday March 17. Parts of the UK will be hotter than popular European holiday spots, and millions will bask in highs of 19C.
The sunniest spots are forecast to be in parts of west Wales and western England, with temperatures to soar past the seasonal average. Met Office chief forecaster Dan Harris said Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week – and it could even be the hottest of the year so far. Mr Harris added: The warmest spots are likely to be in parts of west Wales and western England, where under sunny skies,18-19ºC, possibly even 20ºC is on the cards.”
Met Office weather maps for tomorrow have turned a dark orange, indicating that the mercury will soar.
At 2pm tomorrow, numerous areas across the UK are set to bask under highs of 19C. Manchester and Aberystwyth in Mid Wales will see some of the highest temperatures.
By 3pm, Hereford in the West Midlands will see the mercury soar to 19C. London won’t be far behind with 18C forecast. Birmingham, Nottingham, Sheffield, Wrexham, Stoke-on-Trent, Milton Keynes and Peterborough will all see highs of 18C.
Those in South Wales and the South West of England are likely to see the mercury reach 17C.

While temperatures could hit 19C in the UK on Wednesday, the mercury is only expected to rise to around 17C in Malaga, Spain. Meanwhile, in Santorini, temperatures will just be 16C with rain showers forecast.
The sunny weather will continue on Thursday, and temperatures will cool towards the seasonal average on Friday.
Today is also the Spring Equilux for the southern half of the UK, where daylight is closest to 12 hours. From tomorrow, days will be longer than the nights until late September.
The Met Office’s forecast from Thursday to Sunday states: « Some cloud in the north and northeast on Thursday, otherwise largely sunny.
« Feeling warm in gentle winds. Patchy rain in the far northwest thereafter. Staying fine elsewhere, but cooler overall. »
