Royal Family LIVE: Meghan Markle warned over ‘downgrade’ | Royal | News

Meghan Markle was warned by an expert that her “value has changed” after quitting the Royal Family, and that her latest scheduled appearance proves it. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be heading Down Under next month to attend a series of engagements linked to their passions and business endeavours.

One of those engagements is a £1,440-per-person, women-only event in Sydney, where Meghan will be interviewed on stage. VIP tickets for the event from April 17 to 19 cost 3,199 Australian dollars (£1,700) and offer front-row seats at the gala dinner and a group photo with Meghan. But royal commentator Bronte Coy noted how the Duchess went from appearance on Oprah Winfrey’s show to a “girl’s weekend” retreat in the last few years, telling Sky News Australia: “I think at this point, I mean, they left the Royal Family six years ago and we have seen even just the fact that Netflix deal was downgraded, although that’s not how they have said it, but it is.

“These sorts of things, [show] their value has changed. And that is a very expensive ticket. If I’m going to pay that kind of money to attend this event, presumably just to hear her speak and be in proximity to her, I want a selfie with the two of us.”
