M25 drivers are facing rush hour traffic chaos this evening following a huge crash involving two lorries. The vehicles have collided on the anti-clockwise stretch of the UK’s busiest motorway at junction 30 near the Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex.
National Highways East said the crash has inflicted « heavy damage » and a « full recovery is needed », warning drivers face « long delays » during the busy rush hour period back into Kent through the Dartford Tunnel. Two of three lanes have been closed as a result. The traffic agency wrote on X: « #M25 anti-clockwise at J30 (#Thurrock, #Tilbury, #Lakeside, #A13), #Essex. LANES CLOSED. 2 lanes (of 3) closed due to collision involving 2 lorries. Heavy damage and full recovery needed. Expect long delays through rush hour back in to #Kent through #DartfordTunnel. »
