A campsite near Newquay has been crowned with the prestigious honour of AA Campsite of the Year South West England for 2025-6. The setting just minutes from a beach and its amenities, including a heated outdoor pool, helped it to beat campsites across the popular south west and cinch the award.

The AA also awarded it a five-star rating in accordance with their own grading system. With 223 pitches on offer for motorhomes, caravans, and tents, this beachfront campsite boasts an impressive 4.7 rating on Google reviews, and bookings are open from May 15 in time for half term.

Treloy Touring Park can be found on the A3059 in Cornwall, and the site is close to the coast offering views over the sparkling Celtic Sea. The sandy Porth Beach is merely a 10-minute drive away and is a popular spot for surfers due to its powerful waves.

On calmer days, visitors can take a swim or paddle in the sea, or investigate the rock pools dotted around the sandy coastline.

Next to Porth is the lively Newquay Beach, which, despite its popularity, provides plenty of sand for visitors to spread out on. Here too, you’ll spot numerous surfers, paddleboarders, kayakers, and others making the most of the waves.

One of the key attractions at Treloy is its heated swimming pool. Open from 8am to 7pm daily, the pool area includes sun loungers where guests can unwind and bask in the sunshine. There’s also a smaller paddling pool for the youngsters.
