No trains will be running to or from Glasgow Central on Monday in the wake of Sunday’s emergency incident, rail operator Avanti West Coast has confirmed.
In an online statement, a spokesperson for the rail operator said that « an amended train service will run to Preston, Carlisle and Motherwell, enabling customers to connect with trains to Edinburgh and local services to the Glasgow area », but « customers are strongly encouraged to check before they travel ».
For any Monday commuters with an Avanti West Coast ticket issued for services between London Euston and Glasgow Central, can use said tickets on any LNER services along the East Coast Main Line, the spokesperson added.
If you are able to delay your journey, customers with tickets dated Sunday the 8th or Monday the 9th March from Glasgow Central to London Euston will have their ticket honoured on any Avanti West Coast train on Tuesday 10th March.
An Avanti West Coast spokesperson added: « Alternatively, if you abandoned your journey as a result of the disruption you can claim a fee-free refund from where you bought your ticket. »
