UK launches charter flights booking portal for Brits in Dubai | World | News

A booking portal has been launched by the Foreign Office for Brits who want seats on charter flights out of the Middle East. Widespread airspace closures prompted by the joint US-Israeli attack on Iran left thousands of British nationals stranded in the region, including in Dubai.

The Foreign Office said it will contact those who registered themselves as being in the region and the most vulnerable will be prioritised. On Saturday, it emerged that the Government will charter a commercial flight out of the United Arab Emirates to help Brits who want to leave. It will leave Dubai early this coming week subject to the situation on the ground. There will also be a charge for the flight.

A Government charter flight to bring Britons home is due to leave Muscat, Oman, on Sunday (March 8).

Over 160,000 Brits have told the Foreign Office they are in the region.

Iran continued to target Gulf countries this weekend, with one person killed overnight when debris from an aerial interception fell on a vehicle in Dubai.

At least three other people have been killed by missile debris in the city since the US and Israel launched their offensive on February 28.

Those who died were from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal, according to local authorities.
