Iran’s missiles have allegedly struck a Saudi air base where the US Air Force is stationed. Video footage purporting to show a ballistic missile strike on Prince Sultan Air Base in Al-Kharj had been posted on X.
The missile is reported to have impacted very close to several U.S. service members. It is understood that only minor injuries have been reported to personnel. Officials are yet to confirm a direct impact to the base. The last update from Saudi Arabia Minstry of Defence around two hours ago was confirming the interception and destruction of a cruise missile east of Al-Kharj Governorate. In a statement released early Friday, Saudi Arabia also announced that its air defense systems successfully intercepted three ballistic missiles launched toward Prince Sultan Air Base, preventing them from reaching their intended target and causing no damage. According to the Saudi Press Agency, citing the official spokesperson of the ministry, the interception occurred before the projectiles could strike the air base.
The spokesperson said: « Three ballistic missiles that were directed toward Prince Sultan Air Base were detected and intercepted before reaching their targets and were destroyed. »
The ministry did not disclose further details regarding the origin of the missiles
Prince Sultan Air Base is a key military installation that hosted a significant US presence during the Iraq war and continues to support US Air Force operations. Eskan Village near Riyadh is used as accommodation for US military personnel, mainly those undergoing training.
Royal Air Force personnel have also long been attached to the Ministry of Defence Saudi Armed Forces Projects (MODSAP). As of April 2019, there were 66 UK military staff stationed in Saudi Arabia and a further 35 based in the UK working with MODSAP.
Al Jazeera have also just announced that rocket attacks have targeted a military base housing the US diplomatic center near Baghdad airport.

He reported that Iranian forces launched seven attack drones overnight toward civilian residential neighborhoods. « The Iranian terrorist regime has attacked 12 different countries and continues to deliberately target civilians throughout the Middle East.

In his statement, he added that Iran has targeted 12 different countries so far and continues carrying out attacks against innocent civilians across the region.
He said, the US will continue working with regional partners to address the threat to innocent people across the region.
