British nationals are being urged not to travel to parts of 76 countries. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has updated its list of travel warnings, which advise against « all travel » and « all but essential travel » to certain countries or parts of countries.
They urge Brits to avoid the areas, which include nations in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America, due to ongoing security issues, safety concerns and health risks. Anyone who chooses to travel to any of the areas listed will see their travel insurance invalidated.
Brits should keep a close eye on the regularly-updated list, particularly amid the current conflict in the Middle East. The warnings impact holiday hotspots, including the United Arab Emirates and Thailand.
The situation is escalating across the region, with the US and Israel‘s strikes on Iran being met with retaliation. President Donald Trump has warned the conflict could last for weeks, with no signs that the tensions are easing.
Sir Keir Starmer previously said: « I know the situation in the Middle East is worrying for British people in the region, and at home. It’s my duty as Prime Minister to keep British people safe. I will be answering questions on the steps we took over the weekend in Parliament. »
Here is the full list of 76 countries on the Foreign Office’s « do not travel » list.
