The biggest disruption is in the United Arab Emirates, where all flights from Dubai International and Dubai Al Maktoum airports have been suspended until further notice. Emirates says its operations will remain halted until at least 3pm on Monday, while Etihad has suspended departures from Abu Dhabi until 2am on Monday.
The closures follow a series of explosions and interceptions in the area, with Dubai Airport confirming that four members of staff were injured overnight.
British Airways has cancelled flights to Tel Aviv and Bahrain until Wednesday and is warning passengers that services to Abu Dhabi, Amman, Doha and Dubai may also be delayed or subject to last-minute changes.
Virgin Atlantic has cancelled its flights between London and Dubai and London and Riyadh for Sunday and Monday.
Lufthansa has extended its own cancellations, confirming that services to Tel Aviv, Beirut, Amman, Erbil, Dammam and Tehran are suspended until March 8.

The airline says the decision is due to airspace closures and continued uncertainty across the region.
Air France has also cancelled flights. In an update, the airline said: « Due to the security situation locally, the airline has decided to cancel its scheduled flights to and from Tel Aviv, Beyruth, Dubai and Ryiadh from February 28, 2026 to March 3, 2026. Air France will provide further updates regarding its flight schedule to these destinations for the following days at a later time and reminds that the safety of its customers and crews is its utmost priority. »
Other airlines have also made changes to their schedules. Singapore Airlines has adjusted its routes to avoid airspace near the conflict zone.
Air India has rerouted several Middle East services in response to safety concerns.
Wizz Air has suspended its flights to Israel, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Amman until next weekend.
The wave of cancellations follows Iran’s launch of missiles and drones at targets in Israel, as well as strikes aimed at US military sites in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE.
Several countries responded by closing sections of their airspace, leaving airlines with fewer safe flight paths.
Passengers travelling in the coming days are being urged to check their flight status regularly, follow updates from their airline and prepare for ongoing disruption.
