Plymouth double decker buses crash with several injured including ‘toddler’ | UK | News

Several people have been injured after a crash involving two double-decker buses in Plymouth. The collision happened on Exeter Street at around 12.50pm on Thursday (February 26), promping emergency services to rush to the scene.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said 10 people were on board the buses at the time of the incident. Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed injuries, but said these were all minor. The Daily Express has also contacted the ambulance service to confirm details.

A statement from Devon and Cornwall Police read: « We were called to Exeter Street, Plymouth, at around 12.50pm on Thursday 26 February following a report of a collision involving two buses. The ambulance service also attended. Several people suffered minor injuries. »

Pictures from the scene suggest the collision involved a double-decker Stagecoach bus and a red double-decker Go-Ahead bus.

A spokesperson for Go-Ahead Southwest said: « An in service bus was involved in a vehicle on vehicle collision on Exeter Street at 12.40pm on February 26. All passengers and driver were assessed before leaving the scene. Police and ambulance services attended the scene. We have been working with authorities on their investigations. »

The South Western Ambulance Service did not confirm whether a child was among those injured. A spokesperson said: “We were called at 12.48pm on Thursday, February 26, to a road traffic collision in Plymouth. We sent one double-crewed land ambulance, and an operations officer to the scene. We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to the Cumberland Centre.”
