Major change for easyJet passengers starts next month | Europe | Travel

Holidaymakers in the UK will soon have expanded options as easyJet prepares to introduce the first of three new European routes. From March, the budget carrier will operate its inaugural service from Newcastle to Rome.

The Newcastle to Rome service commences on 30 March, enabling families to take advantage of the Easter break.

Additionally, new Newcastle to Lisbon flights will begin on 22 June.

The airline has also revealed a new Manchester to Bari route in Italy, with services starting from 3 July.

This will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays. easyJet holidays will provide package deals to all three destinations, including flights and accommodation, plus 23kg baggage allowance and airport transfers on Bari beach holidays.

Travellers can select from hundreds of hotels and reserve their holiday with a modest deposit of only £60 per person.

Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK country manager, said: « We’re excited to be launching new routes and packages from Manchester and Newcastle to three of Europe’s popular destinations, providing customers with even more choice and connectivity, whether they’re looking for a cultural city getaway or relaxing beach break.

« In our 30th year, we are set to operate our biggest ever flying programme this summer, offering more than 50 million seats to and from the UK, and remain committed as we ever have been to making travel easy. »

The following routes can be booked via easyJet.com and the mobile app:

  • Flights from Newcastle to Rome will run twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays, commencing 30 March 2026, with fares starting at £33.99 (one-way per person, inclusive of taxes)
  • Flights from Newcastle to Lisbon will also operate twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, beginning 22 June 2026, with fares starting at £43.99
  • Flights from Manchester to Bari will run twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays, starting 3 July 2026, with fares from £38.99

Currently, easyJet operates from 22 UK airports, providing over 640 routes to more than 140 destinations from the UK to Europe and beyond.
