The resort town of Marmaris, located on Turkey’s Mediterranean coastline, has been crowned the most affordable destination for a European getaway during the Easter holidays. With expansive beaches, picturesque marinas and dramatic mountain scenery, it’s merely four hours from the UK, and costs half the price of a Parisian trip during the same period.

When considering a budget-friendly European break, minds frequently drift to Paris, thanks to its accessible location, under three hours from the UK via Eurostar or a quick flight lasting just over 90 minutes. Whilst it’s a speedy journey, the expense of a visit to the ‘City of Light’ can rapidly mount up.

Indeed, Which? disclosed that Paris is the priciest short-haul city break destination you could select over Easter, costing you on average £1,310 per person. Meanwhile, after analysing over 3,000 package holidays during the peak travel period, the travel experts discovered that Marmaris provided the most economical Easter holiday this year. 

According to Which?, a visit to the sun-drenched city would cost an average of £594 per person for a seven-night package – half the expense of a Parisian trip!

Furthermore, Marmaris can achieve highs of 25C in April, compared to 16C in Paris. Frequently hailed as the ‘King of the coast’, Marmaris proves a sanctuary for visitors craving an getaway in scorching temperatures and days lounging on its expansive sandy shores, which undeniably attract British tourists.

Amongst the most favoured is Marmaris Long Beach (Uzunyali), extending 4km close to the town centre and flanked by eateries and drinking establishments, offering various watersports activities.
