Smirking thug beat woman so badly she needed reconstructive surgery after random attack | UK | News

A vicious thug who randomly attacked a woman, repeatedly punching her in a face and leaving her with horrific injuries. The victim was walking along Seaview Road in Gillingham, Kent, on April 23 2025 when she was set upon by Levi Silcott, who dragged her along the ground into an alleyway before subjecting her to a horrific beating.

The woman, who had never met Silcott, suffered facial fractures and has since undergone medical and reconstructive surgery.  Investigators reviewed a significant amount of CCTV footage from the area and noticed a man getting out of a car wearing clothing similar to that worn by the offender.

Officers then tracked the car’s movements and their enquiries identified Silcott as the attacker.

Silcott, of Simmons Drive, Dagenham, was arrested on May 21 in Ilford, and was subsequently charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He was remanded in custody, denied the offence at court and was convicted following a trial at Maidstone Crown Court.

The 26-year-old was sentenced at the same court on Wednesday.

« That he denied his actions and put the courageous victim through the ordeal of a trial was despicable. He belongs in jail and Gillingham is a much safer place for women in his absence. »
