Sarah Ferguson’s 4 biggest scandals as she hatches ‘comeback’ plan | Royal | News

Sarah Ferguson is reportedly plotting a comeback plan to revive her public image in the UK after appearing in the latest Epstein files. It has been widely reported that the former Duchess of York, 66, is trying to work out the best way to improve her reputation in the UK.

This comes after the latest Epstein files have shown how close Sarah was to the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, even after he had been released from prison for child sex offences. Although it is not yet known exactly what she plans to do, it is believed Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s ex wife is looking for a new PR team. It is also believed she is looking for new ways to make a living, especially since losing her royal title.

Here are the four biggest scandals Sarah Ferguson has faced…

The toe-sucking scandal

1.The toe-sucking scandal

Five months after Sarah separated from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in 1992, the former Duchess of York was photographed at her holiday villa in St Tropez with her “financial advisor”.

In the photographs that made front-page headlines, Sarah could be seen having her toes sucked by John Bryan. This was while her young daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, were also with the pair on holiday.

The photographs were taken with long lenses and quickly became a scandal, making the front pages while the Royal Family were at Balmoral Castle, with Sarah Ferguson also present.

Bryan has since said that he was, in fact, kissing Sarah’s toes as part of a family game, rather than as a sexual gesture towards the now former duchess.

2. The Epstein files

Over the last few months Sarah has arguably faced her biggest scandal of all time. The US Justice Department have released what are famously known as the Epstein files, which are essentially files connected to the conduct of the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

In these files, numerous emails between Epstein and Sarah can be found. These are emails sent after Epstein was convicted of child sex offences.

One email shows Sarah telling him he is like a “brother”, another shows her calling him a “legend”, and one shows an email sent from Andrew’s PA on behalf of Sarah inviting Epstein to a Palace party for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

Other emails also show Sarah telling Epstein her daughter Princess Eugenie is away on a “sha**ing weekend”.

3. Cash-for-access scandal

In 2010, Sarah Ferguson was left “devastated” after she appeared in a cash-for-access scandal. This saw Sarah offer an undercover reporter, posing as a businessman, access to her ex-husband Andrew, who at the time was a British trade envoy.

Sarah was filmed accepting a $40,000 (£27,600) cash deposit as part of a £500,000 deal to introduce the reporter, posing as an Indian businessman, to Andrew and set up trade deals.

She was heard saying on video: “£500,000 when you can, to me, open doors. Then that is then, like, then you open up all the channels, whatever you need, whatever you want, and then that’s that, what, and then you meet Andrew and that’s fine.

“And that’s, that’s when you really open up whatever you want.”

4. Tell-all interviews

Sarah Ferguson has also found herself unpopular after doing tell-all interviews. One of these interviews was with Oprah Winfrey in 1996.

The former duchess said in this interview: “You fell in love and married a man, and then you have to come to terms with the fairytale.

« Now, it’s not a fairytale, it’s real life in there — well, so to speak. They think it’s real life in there. »

Such comments were unlikely to have gone down well with the Royal Family.
