Prince Harry quit royal life in 2020, leaving behind everything he had ever known. While the decision no doubt caused a lot of uncertainty for the Duke of Sussex, it soon opened the doors to a new normal for him.
While there have been rumours that Harry has not been content with the Californian lifestyle and misses UK life, a source has now disputed this and claimed the duke is more than happy with his new lifestyle.
“Even though he was raised [as a royal], he was never comfortable in that environment. He feels more like himself here.”
Talking about the constraints royal life had on Harry, the source said: “He had this crazy schedule (in the UK) and would come back through the palace gates and couldn’t go out or have a personal life.”
Speaking at an event in 2024, Harry said: « I very much enjoy living here and bringing my kids up here. It’s a part of my life that I never thought I was going to live.
« I feel as though it’s the life that my mum wanted for me. To be able to do the things I’m able to do with my kids that I undoubtedly wouldn’t be able to do in the UK — it’s huge.
“That is a fantastic opportunity and I’m hugely grateful for that. »
Harry and Meghan have shown no ambition to return to the UK full-time. Instead, Harry makes occasional visits across the pond to his home country, which he is set to continue doing.
