A number of schools in the UK are expected to close on Wednesday as snow continues to batter much of the UK. Many schools in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland closed on Tuesday as the Met Office imposed an amber weather warning in areas of Scotland.
On Wednesday, yellow snow and ice warnings are in place for northern Scotland, while most of England and southern Scotland face yellow warnings for just ice from midnight to 10am.
