Schools in the area have been locked down following reports of a shooting.
The Niagara Regional Police Service said: « Schools in the immediate area as well as the Welland Hospital are currently in lockdown as officers respond and address the situation. »
The District School Board of Niagara said no staff in Plymouth can leave the school, and no students or staff will be allowed in.
It wrote on X: « If you walk or drive your children to school, please keep them at home until further notification. »
The Catholic school board added students already on the bus will be dropped off at St. Andrew Catholic Elementary School, where parents can pick them up.
