Weight Watchers unveils service for weight-loss injection users, launching January 2026

Weight Watchers has launched a new service to help people using GLP-1 medications like Ozempic or Wegovy keep the weight off. The weight management specialists warn the popular ‘jabs’ are most effective when paired with external support.

Their GLP-1 Success Programme is designed to support medication tolerance, reduce side effects and protect lean muscle mass. The new members’ experience provides coaching, nutrition and exercise advice to help those who are using GLP-1 medications, to ensure sustainable healthy weight loss.

Dr Kim Boyd, chief medical officer at the company said: “GLP-1 medications are powerful tools, but they’re not a standalone solution.

“They work across the body, including the brain, to reduce hunger signals and food noise – something that can be especially helpful during the festive season.”

The new programme claims to be built more closely around how people ‘actually live’, with a more adaptive, responsive experience.

It is hoped to more closely reflect the reality of managing weight over a period of time and offers a clearer picture of progress.

Speaking of the programme, Boyd explained that the new programme helps translate the biological effects of GLP-1 medications into sustainable behaviour change, with science-backed support that spans dose and side-effect tracking, nutrition and movement guidance to help preserve muscle, and a community designed specifically for people on a GLP-1 journey.

Weight Watchers is also introducing an updated brand identity to try and change how the company appears in the broader health landscape.

Currently, in the US, members can get GLP-1s via Weight Watchers Med+, but the GLP-1 Success Programme is being rolled out in the UK this January and there is a partnership in place with CheqUp, which prescribes GLP-1s in the UK.

Tara Comonte, CEO of Weight Watchers, the global wellness company focused on weight loss and healthy living, said: “People are increasingly looking for safe, expert guidance and support that fits the way they actually live. And most importantly, they want real and sustainable results.

“In fact, members who use GLP-1s while engaging with the programme lose more weight and report higher satisfaction and quality of life.”
