Among the 19 new images unveiled by House Democrats from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate, one particular photograph is drawing significant attention. The image in question features former Donald Trump advisor Steve Bannon and Jeffrey Epstein engaged in conversation at a desk within the estate.
What has piqued interest is a framed picture on the desk, situated beneath an ornate lamp, depicting a blurred-out face of a girl or woman. House Democrats have reassured that the photographs are being released in stages to safeguard trafficking victims, with their faces obscured for protection.
However, the images were disseminated without captions or context, leading many on X to speculate about the identity of the individual in the frame.
The framed image seems to portray a blonde, long-haired female lounging in a bathtub, her legs draped over the side. Across the desk sits Steve Bannon, who has previously refuted any awareness of Epstein’s illicit activities, and no evidence of illegal conduct on Bannon’s part is visible in any of the photos.
Numerous pictures have been previously released displaying an array of framed images of women and girls scattered across Epstein’s properties. Investigators have also previously discovered nude photographs and portraits of Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime girlfriend and accomplice, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence for her role in recruiting young women for Epstein’s trafficking ring.
Social media users on X wasted no time scrutinising close-ups of the photograph. « Newly released photo of Jeffrey Epstein with Steve Bannon. If you look closely enough, there seems to be another photo of a certain trafficking victim sitting on Jeffrey Epstein’s desk, » one writes.
« Epstein and Bannon. Look at the close-up of the picture on his desk. I’m going to be sick. Jesus Christ, » another adds.
Another apparently unremarkable photograph from the celebrity encounters also displays a wall covered in pictures of women with obscured faces.
One in the bottom right depicts a woman, face blurred, lying on a bed with legs visible. On the left hangs an ordinary photograph of Bill Gates.
Further images from the initial batch of 19 contain more explicit material and feature items and evidence discovered at Jeffrey Epstein’s residence, including various adult toys, amongst them a rope Shibari kit. Another is labelled « jawbreaker ballgag. »
One notable item was a « Trump condom, » packaged in red wrapping bearing the now-President’s image, with the slogan « I’m HUUUGE! ».
Additional photographs document Epstein’s glamorous social calendar as he attended high-profile gatherings and posed for pictures with President Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Woody Allen, and other prominent figures. All have denied any awareness of Epstein’s offences, and no evidence of wrongdoing exists.
Republicans have accused the Democrats of « cherry-picking » the photos to « create a false narrative » about the president.
A GOP Oversight Committee spokesperson responded to the photo release, saying, « We received over 95,000 photos, and Democrats released just a handful. Democrats’ hoax against President Trump has been completely debunked. Nothing in the documents we’ve received shows any wrongdoing. It is shameful Rep. Garcia and Democrats continue to put politics above justice for the survivors. »
Jeffrey Epstein took his own life whilst in custody in August 2019, mere weeks after being arrested on sex trafficking charges brought by Trump’s first-term DOJ.
Epstein’s long-time associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, is presently serving a 20-year prison term for her involvement in the child trafficking operation, for which she was found guilty in 2021.
A recent meeting with current DOJ officials secured her transfer to a less restrictive facility this year, and multiple reports have outlined her efforts to compose a letter requesting her sentence be commuted.
