It’s officially winter, so that means the frosty weather is here to stay for the next few months. If you’re planning on visiting some Christmas markets over the next few weeks, a warm and stylish coat is a must – and we’ve spotted one that’s nearly half off at New Look. This long puffer coat, originally retailing for £74.99, has been slashed by 47%, bringing the price down to £40, according to the Liverpool Echo.
As well as classic black, it also comes in white, burgundy and khaki green, and the discount applies to all shades. Sizes range from six to 22 in black and khaki, and the white one is available in sizes 10 to 22. The burgundy has been the most popular, with all sizes but 20 sold out.
The shower-resistant coat ends just below the knee and closes with a zipper and poppers to keep warmth in. It also has functional pockets and a detachable faux fur trim on the hood, adding a stylish touch. To make sure it doesn’t look boxy, it also has an adjustable panel at the waist to cinch it in.
With Christmas approaching, this coat would make a thoughtful gift for a loved one, but at this price, it’s also perfect if you’re looking to treat yourself to a new coat. I’m imagining wrapping up for a post-Christmas dinner walk, wearing it for a crisp hike, or indeed strolling around a Christmas market with a cup of mulled wine in hand.
Shoppers are loving the coat online, with many praising the addition of the hood.
One said: “Lovely warm, long coat. Bought my usual size and is spacious enough to fit a warm jumper underneath and not feel restricted. Wore in the rain and kept me nice and dry. Nice size hood, stayed up, and could see under the fur trim.”
Another shopper said: « Fab coat, this is my second time buying a variation of this style. It lasts well, the hood covers well. I usually find a lot of jackets like this, the hood doesn’t stay up. Cosy and warm as well. »
A third review read: “Great fit and lovely and warm. I especially like the hood; my head is small, and most hoods drown me, but this is perfect. Also love the fact that the fur trim can be removed.”
Another shopper thought it would make a good gift, saying: « Lovely coat, looks like good quality. I bought it for my daughter for Christmas. »
However, it’s worth noting the coat is only shower-resistant and not fully waterproof, meaning it may not work as well as a raincoat for heavy downpours.
