On the issue of a prospective peacekeeping mission to monitor a potential ceasefire in Ukraine, Lavrov said Moscow would not accept any troops from NATO members, repeating its assertion that Ukraine‘s bid to join the Western military alliance poses a major security issue.
Lavrov said: « We explained that the deployment of troops from the countries that are NATO members, even if they are deployed under the EU or national flags, will not change anything and will certainly be unacceptable for us. »
