Regarding television viewing preferences, everyone holds differing opinions on their preferred content. Some individuals favour a relaxed comedy, while others seek a psychological thriller that maintains them on tenterhooks.
However, there are certain cult classics that hundreds of thousands of viewers watch, and rewatch, which deliver joy, excitement and nostalgia. One Reddit user posted in the R/AskReddit community to enquire which members’ favourite TV programme of all time was.
The post stated: « What’s a TV series you’ll never get tired of recommending to someone? » Hundreds of individuals were swift to champion their 10 favourite TV programmes, with some being broadcast for the first time in 2002.
1. The Wire, 2002
The Wire was broadcast on HBO between 2002 and 2008 and examines the narcotics scene in Baltimore through the perspectives of police, alongside the drug dealers and users.
The programme was created by former police reporter David Simon, who also penned many of the episodes, and boasts a substantial 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
One individual remarked: « I was advocating for someone I know to watch it about four hours ago. I had to share, to someone who works in a bureaucracy, the line ‘There you go Jimmy…Givin’ a f***, when it ain’t your turn to give a f***’. Masterpiece of a show. »

However, she soon discovers she’s there by mistake, and must conceal her true identity. The programme boasts an impressive 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and remains a beloved choice amongst television enthusiasts.

4. Arrested Development, 2003
Arrested Development first graced our screens on Fox in 2003, chronicling the lives of the Bluth family. Michael Bluth finds himself reluctantly remaining in Orange County to manage the family real estate business after his father, George Bluth Sr, is incarcerated for white-collar crime.
He attempts to balance the desires and demands of his pampered and quirky family while striving to be a positive influence for his teenage son, George Michael.

The series, boasting a Rotten Tomatoes score of 75%, is renowned for its revival after the third season, which didn’t receive as warm a reception as the initial three seasons of the show.

The programme holds a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and you needn’t be a football enthusiast to enjoy the show.
One individual commented: « I’m not even a fan of Soccer or most sports, but this show may be the most Wholesome, Down to Earth show I’ve ever seen. For anyone who hasn’t seen it, Soccer and sports is only about 5% of the show. The other 95% is behind the scenes, character development, comedy, and straight up genuine wholesomeness. »

One individual remarked: « Kind of dark to be fair. More raunchy than dark to me really. But it’s amazing, so I agree on the brilliance. Olivia Coleman may be my favourite British actresses of all time, even if she has been around the station a few times. »
